How do you throw a baseball without your shoulder hurting?

I was wondering if someone could just give me a few tips of advice on how to throw a baseball without it making your shoulder hurt. I already tried to google it, but couldn’t find anything useful. Thanks for your help!

Throw like you regularly do, but follow through. If you don’t follow through, you can injure your shoulder easily.

Something about your shoulder could be hurt in the first place. Maybe your rotator cup. You should probably go see a doctor if the tips don’t work before throwing again.

I don’t play baseball, but I do play softball and this past year I had trouble with my shoulder hurting from throwing…My coach told me that I was throwing side armed and she told me to stand next to a wall with my throwing arm closest to the wall and throw it, making sure I didn’t hit the wall with my arm, and it really helped. My arm doesnt hurt anymore unless I throw a whole lot. If that doesn’t help see a doctor maybe…and I know it might be a completely different case with softball so I dont know….just throwing the idea out there. Hope it helped (:

If your throwing like Tim Lincecum or somewhat like that, then stop. He has a bionicle arm. Otherwise, your shoulder might just be hurting. See a doctor first

Stretch your arm before you throw. That’s what stretching is for.

No need to see a doctor, it’s normal for it to hurt a little.

Start slow and easy and warm up before using your complete strength

There are two things that you need to do:

    1) Get on a program that focuses on strengthening the arm while promoting an injury free workout. The best one on the internet is http://www.yougoprobaseball.com/Pitching365.html

    2) Read the article about throwing mechanics. This can help you if the way you are throwing the baseball is causing the pain. The article can be found at http://www.yougoprobaseball.com/Pitching-BasicThrowing.html This article was actually written by a current big league pitcher Greg Burke with the San Diego Padres.

I hope that helps answer your question. Good Luck!
